The problem is always an issue of time – you can only do so much depending on your lifestyle. To not be too depressed about the disparity between what you are and what you want to be, I think it helps to reflect on how far you’ve come.

Multiple times. And you’ve described the struggle between thinking about new ideas and the application of those ideas so perfectly. I may not be a full-on math teacher, but I am an educator who thinks about these things and I *really* appreciate reflections like yours. Plus, sounds like your approach to teaching (including reflection) is totally paying off. Only the first day – onward!
